Vol. II [1875 written on flyleaf]: Chapter 5 Itinerant life; Chapter 6 (August 10, 1879) Itinerant married life. Vol. III: Chapter 7 (August 11, 1879) Itinerant married life - Presiding Elder, Georgetown, Texas; Chapter 8 (January 25, 1883) President of Soule University and Regent of Southwestern University, Georgetown, Texas. The memoir includes recollections of his Civil War experiences including a description of the fall of Fort Sumter and a recounting of the rescue of Col. Anderson from the fort.
